A Little More Landscape Doodling.

There’s a drawing.

Guess what?

I’m already getting impatient with development.

The Panel Mammals are starting to get rolling… and my fellow mammals are really getting some interesting things going, and I have to admit… They’ve lit a fire under me. No way am I going to be the slacker! (I’m not going to be the biggest producer either though.)

Basically…I’ve been doing a lot of thinking, I’ve got a plan, and here it is (feel free to criticize or point out issues I may be overlooking):

The Plan… The goal for me is to get back into twice weekly production as soon as possible. Hopefully, that’ll be the second week in november. (not next week, but the week after that.) From there, I have a secondary goal, which is to figure out how to more efficiently use my time, so that I can do the other thing I want to do… Including begin putting together a JP&TM book. I’ve been thinking about it for a little while now, and I think I’m going to change my format slightly to accommodate this goal. From now on I’ll be working in a variety of sizes as usual, but slightly more standardized sizes… all fractions of the standard comic book page. I figure that’s the best way for me to work and still produce content for the web, but also be able to fit it with some of the more ambitious work that would go into the book without ever hitting the internet. (I know some people may not like that, but the fact is, this website design works better with single row strips, and a full page would just be too big. Also, there are story line ideas I have that would need a more frequent posting schedule than I have time for.)

I know this is an ambitious plan… So I’m not in a rush. In an ideal world, I’d have a book ready to go in one year (please don’t ask me how many pages it would be.)

My first step is to hit two strips a week.

Step two will be to hit three strips a week.

Once I get some of my other obligations out of the way, hopefully I’ll be able start with the larger pages as well. (the ones that won’t go on the internet.)

This could be awesome.

More strips=happier fans. Give us what you can. I’m sure everone is looking forward to hoe this progresses. May all the other mammals keep pushing you.

I hope you mean step 1 is 2 strips a WEEK, otherwise you’re being way too ambitious and won’t last the month. It would be a fun month, but probably not worth frying yourself on cartooning again.

  3. jim (JP&TM creator) Says:

Hah…. yeah, I’m afraid I wouldn’t last long on that schedule… That’s what I get for waiting until late to post a blog. Cursed typos. I fixed the post… Strips a week, not day.

  4. Scott Says:

Right on! Sounds like the boredom has officially passed. I knew it was just a phase. Here’s to the rise of JP&TM.

    Go Jim Go…

Armed only with nerdy jokes and black and white drawings, I head out to conquer the internet!
