Back in the 1980s when Garry Trudeau and Bill Watterson took sabbaticals at different times, forcing "Doonesbury" and "Calvin and Hobbes" into reruns, they were thoroughly lambasted for doing so. Actually, I believe that Watterson took two sabbaticals, and as you can imagine the complaints from fans and newspapers were angriest the second time. But you're not a syndicated cartoonist with deadlines imposed by others that you have to meet, Jim. You're an online cartoonist whose site is dedicated to working on and further evolving your strip. So the sabbatical is not a bad thing, but rather a good thing. I look forward to the return of "JP&TM," but by all means take your time. There are no syndicates or newspapers rushing you.
