Last Week of Sketches

Alright… This is it, it’s the last week of non-comic production!  I’m getting back on the comic producing bandwagon next week (technically I already started, but I’m not posting until next week.)  I think I’m also going to change up the schedule… I’ve got to get back to three comics a week.  Starting next week, I’ll be posting three comics (monday, wednesday, and friday) but next monday’s comic will be from this week’s panel mammal post.

As for other changes… Well, I’ve made a few artistic tweaks, but all in all, I’ve decided not to do anything hasty.  I figure I’ve got to get a grip on my impatience, and just push forward, letting my comic evolve.  It’s very frustrating, but I see no other choice.

I like the robot that’s on one wheel like Sanderson. Is this an extension of the Adam’s dad sketches? I see you like the apparatuses (apparati?) coming out of the chest cavity. I think it would be cool to have a mechanical hand pop out of the head, like the left temple, and while he’s working on stuff, the third hand can ponderingly scratch his head or rub his chin. Could also hold a light spelunking-style. I like the big guy in the middle. Has a dad look, and could be friendly or crazy scientist like. I also like the ball w/arm directly in his eyeline with the rocket propulsion system instead of the propeller.

The robot directly behind him looks like a pre-Adam. Maybe he lives in the attic, like that evil twin of Bart Simpson?

Yeah!!!!! More comics! I’m glad to see you are over this little phase of not posting, but …I have to wait ’til Monday? Come on, we’re dying here. I love all the sketches, but I don’t care for the mustache.

I love all the wheel-bots, and it’s neat to see Fractal’s tools.

  4. MJ

Yeah for strips, Boo and Hiss on no more sketches. Just like looking at your processes Jim. Cool material.

    Thanks for the feedback guys!

@me!: Yeah, the dad design is probably the one in the middle. I haven’t decided how to properly add a third arm yet though.

@Kevin: Sorry, you have to wait. I’ve got to get a few strips under me before leaping into production again.

@Ethan: Yeah, Fractal is making a comeback I think. (he already appeared in one strip, but I wasn’t sure I’d add him for sure or not.)

@MJ: Ideally, I’d post three days of comics a week and two days of sketches… but I don’t think that’s going to happen just yet.

Hey, Jim! I love your sketches here, especially the one of Fred on the right; slack jawed, dull eyed, thumbs a-twiddle - it looks like the jet-powered Fractal is about to poke him out of his gamer concentration.
I’m thinking that a third arm for Adam’s dad is a little “Inspector Gadget”ish, but as long as it doesn’t come out of his hat, you should be right. Just a personal feeling, you know.
