On with the Interview

Well, this one’s a little more art-heavy than I’ve done in a while… Not sure if that’s a good thing or not.

What I do know, is that this concludes the beach portion of this storyline.  Tune in next week for the first ‘full page’ jetpacks and time machines comic ever (that’s 11″x17″).  We’ll see how it goes I guess.

After being used to your tight pencil work, this one strikes me as a little sketchy looking, but I’m spoiled on the old stuff. But you could scribble Johnny in kool-aid on a cocktail napkin and I’d be a fan. Initially the small panels irked me a bit too until I realized they were roving camera shots. Maybe rounded borders to make that more clear? Whatever, still better than 98% of comics out there, and the writing is top-notch!

    YAY! JPTM is back!

I’ve been a fan of this strip for a while, never posted any comments. Thank you for bringing it back!

Oh yeah fresh JP&TM. Like the use of the camera icons in the panels. Great expressions on Johhny.

@me!: Yeah, I’m definitely going to have to experiment with various frames that would suggest “camera”. I tried a few but, wasn’t happy with many of them. As for the writing, I think you’re being a little generous there (everybody knows the writing is still my Achilles’ heel)… But I’ll take it anyways.

@hemicomputer: Thanks for the feedback! I plan on keeping JP@TM rolling on for a while. Hopefully I’ll eventually get a little more time to produce at least one more comic a week though!

@MJ: Thanks MJ… I’ve been working on the facial expressions for a while now… It’s tricky stuff.

I’ve got to get me a pith helmet. THE fashion statement for Summer 2008. :-)

These small comic squares are aliens in Jet Pack & Time Machine World…will they be staying?

  7. MJ

How about some sketches my cool cartoonist pal?

  8. jim (JP&TM creator)

@jarrett: the squares themselves will be altered… The idea behind them, that they’re meant to be the Johnny Sanderson Camera View is here to stay, but how it’s represented will probably change.

@MJ: Sorry MJ… The sketches have had to wait for a while… I’m trying to push more comics through production.
