The Adventure Continues
First ever fullpage JP&TM. This one took longer than I thought it would due to all the experimentation. Turns out I failed to consider just how long drawing a map would take.

Is it the first one without any dialog as well? Great job on the map, so it was all worth it. I like the shot of the golfcart under the bridge looking for Adam flying over it, and that it appears in the paths on the map. The trees blowing with the wind was a good bit of detail. All around great job!

Beautiful work as always, Jim. So, when are you going to turn this into an animated series, put it on TV, sell a ton of action figures and retire as a media millionaire?
Seriously, I always thought this comic would make a kick-ass Saturday morning cartoon. (They still have those, right?)

WOW. . what an incredible piece of art.
So many great ideas, elements & features, but my favorite is the transitions of the ‘flagstone’ entry to the park.
Great job!

Well worth the wait!

Agreed worth the wait, great use of perspectives. I also like the walkway into the park, very cool.

While this is a great strip, where are all the home loan people? I came here to refinance.

Hey Jim,
Really like the action in this one - and the rendering of the roadway/pathway leading thru the gates in panel 7 - most cool !

Oh, by the way Jim - the map is great! I had a friend once who drew an entire town (to plan, so you could tell where the action happened-well, eventually). The drawings were gorgeous, but he’s still in therapy!

@me!: Is this the first one without dialog? I don’t know. The original idea was to have the map be more of the page, and the images around it be snapshots of random chaos caused either Adam or Fred and Serial. Unfortunately, I couldn’t quite work out the layout in a coherent manner.
@mike: Thanks mike. I’m pretty sure they still have Saturday morning cartoons, but just creating the occasional comic strip is more than enough work for me right now. (of course, that’s why people have employees right?)
@Brandy: Yeah, that road-to-flagstone transition was something that got added near the end on a whim. Glad it worked out.
@kevin and MJ: Thanks guys!
@jan: you’ll notice I didn’t label much of the map… I’m leaving my options open. I’m not sure I’m entirely sold on the whole map concept yet… not sure if I should be already setting up where everything is or not.

Just lovely, Jim.

Hate to pick holes in your story line Jim, epic as it is (you know I love your work), but the map doesn’t show Adam passing over the golf course. In the earlier strip where Fred and Serial are hot-wiring the golf cart, the mean golfers make mention of the “crazy kid flying his kite over the last hole”. Keep it together, man!

@doug: Yeah, you got me Doug. I’d waited too long to do these comics, and ended up forgetting the groundwork I’d laid before. I’ll have to be more careful in the future.
