I think the word "illustration" springs to mind when looking at panels one and two. Is that unusual in a comic? Yes. Is it a bad thing, or does it detract from the comic? Hell no. If you have the time to draw them, I'm happy to take the time to look at them.

That Jarrett sure is grumpy for a guy with a lot of time on his hands (it's not like he's making comics or anything ;) ). I didn't mean the last 2 panels were the best EVER (and note I didn't say that, J-dog did), just the best 2 continuous panels in JPTM history in my ever-so-humble nitpicking opinion (sorry to the rest of the Mammals if I gave Jim an inflated head).

Thanks guys!

Yeah, I think me! might be right, overdrawing is my thing. The trick (and struggle) will be to keep heavily detailed scenes from impairing the storytelling.

Excellent strip. Your stuff always deserves a second or third look to catch all the details. The house rocks.

Definitely not. In a time where good drawing seems to be lacking in many comics yours really stands out with great art. And I love panel two.

Since you asked, I think the black was overly gratuitous in panel two, but I wouldn't consider this strip overdrawn.

It's only overdrawn if you don't have time. Visually it's superb. The cyborg cat/fish is a neat touch of weirdness. The last 2 panels are really great- I love how you've put a lot of extra work into the characters the last few strips. They stand out in detail over the backgrounds and the expressions are spot-on. Probably the best 2 panels I've seen and that's not meant as a cut. The action (and "special effects")expressed in the final panel is great.

Overdrawing is your thing. Oh, yeah - the punchline is good too. (Comics are still s'posed to be funny, right?)

Another great strip with fantastic artwork, Jim. I am absolutely in awe of th wonderful Neo-American-Gothic/Post-Modernistic/Hobbiton feel of Adam's house in Panel 1 - it is beautiful. Shades of Ron Cobb creeping in here? Very sweet. I like the suspense you are building with what Adam's father looks like - still haven't decided on a face yet? Planning on springing a surprise on us? Just loving it.
