@Wit: I've been quoted! Makes me feel all correct and stuff. Thanks buddy.

@Jim: Whoa, that's weird. I'm guessing you're 2 hours ahead of me. I just noticed that...
DUDE! You're writing a comic strip with adorable characters. You take this far too seriously. You shun mein opinion and get all yelly, then you go "it's a cause for debate." RAWR to you. But seriously, do what you are doing, and I am awaiting the test drive tomorrow.

@ Everybody: DAMN YOUR CONTRADICTORY NATURES! And also, I don't think I'm putting too much thought into this, and I think it is cause for debate. The point of having the comments sections and the dialog is so that I can get a better grasp of the viewers perspective.

Regardless, I think I'll keep the general post more simple, and do a more complicated breakdown in the other section with a link. It'll be a little more work for people who want more detail, but I think It might work out. I'll field test it tomorrow.

This isn't even cause for a debate. Jim, keep doing what you're doing for those who want to read the "behind the scenes" stuff. Readers, if you don't want the explanation, stop reading when you hit the border of the strip.

EXAAAACTLY! Jim, do whatever makes you happy. The folks are either going to dig the descriptions or not read them...either way, they'll come back for the comic strip.

First I got it, then I didn't, then I got it again. That's just the way my mind works. I love panel 3-4.
I read that description thingy. I have no problem with it.

You Jim, are putting too much thought into it. I'm thinking, don't read it if you don't like it. I like the thought process behind the joke, but explaining the joke is unnecessary. It's not *that* difficult.

[...] These practices have sparked some debate. (not just there, this has been discussed before too.) It’s theorized, that some people don’t want to know what I was attempting to do, or what went into the comic. Some people would rather just read the comic and experience it for themselves. To be perfectly honest, I think this is a valid argument. This leaves me with a bit of a quandary though. I’m not sure how to proceed. (I mean, I’m going to do whatever I want, because it’s my site, but what do I want?) [...]

I personally like the descriptions. I read the comic, laugh at it, and then read the little explanation. I think you're spot on when you say it's like the deleted scenes and "making of" for movies. If I don't want to watch those, I won't hit that button. I am in total support of getting more explanation about the art aspect of each comic. I, like, JC, like to hear the thought processes. Plus, sometimes you've explained something so that it was a total different angle than I was reading it as, and something valuable like that I would regret you no longer doing.

Conflicting opinions! Now jim can sleep poorly. But seriously man, don't just abruptly stop with the descriptions. At least give us a link to a twelve-step program first.

Uh oh, contrasting opinions.

I personally prefer to hear what goes into making things, but I do completely understand how some people might have a problem with it... Some people like to watch the deleted scenes and "making of" documentaries" and some prefer not to know how a movie is made, they just want to experience it.

This is a tough one. I guess I'll blog about it for tomorrow, and see if I can't work something out.

I don't know, i like the descriptions. :\ Not because I like have jokes explained to me, but because I like hearing what the thought process was behind said joke.
