In that case, it might be funny to put a little caption above panel 2 saying “re-enactment”, to show that Johnny cares so little for nature that he’d torture an animal to make-up a story and to show good TV.

@kevin: I’m trying to split the difference a little… It’s not that I didn’t have the time or energy, it’s that I’m trying to figure out when I need more detail, and when I need less.

@me: It wasn’t supposed to be footage, it was supposed to be narration of johnny’s words, although in retrospect, I see how that could be confusing when following a strip showing the television screen.

That first panel is perfect. It’s interesting to see that most of his viewers might not know about his wheel if they only see him fromt he waist up. Cool crazed monkey depiction.

So were they making up the government van thing? So where did they get the footage from?

Purloined…. great choice of words for Johnny. I noticed a much cleaner/simpler approach to these pannels. I like it. Is this going to be the new standard for JP&TM strips, or did you run out if time/energy?
